Kings game plan vs. Heat

TONIGHT’S GAME

KINGS (8-19) VS. HEAT (22-6)

• Time: 7 p.m.

• Where: Sleep Train Arena

• TV/radio: Ch. 10, 1140, 950

THREE KEYS

• 1. Protect the ball: Miami is at its best on fast breaks off turnovers. The Kings have to make smart passes and not allow easy scoring chances in the open court, unless they want to see LeBron James dunking a lot.

• 2. Play big: DeMarcus Cousins and Jason Thompson have to exploit Sacramento’s size advantage against Miami’s small frontcourt to start the game. Thompson did that early in last Friday’s game at Miami, but the Kings couldn’t maintain it for the entire game. Cousins scored well but has to attack more to get Chris Bosh in foul trouble.

• 3. Protect the rim: The Kings allowed 70 points in the paint at Miami last week. They need to clog the lane and force Miami to beat them with outside shots to have a chance at upsetting the Heat.
