Re "Jobless aid extension to end" (Page A1, Dec. 27): When we see the unemployed who are now affected by the cutoff of federal jobless benefits, it makes us angry. We already have enough people hungry because of cutbacks. Every place you look, you see people begging and sleeping on the street. But we never see hungry or homeless congressional representatives. They just keep on giving to themselves and receive paychecks they don't deserve. Our jobs have been sent out of the country. Billions of dollars have gone to wars we didn't need. Millions of dollars have gone for military equipment that will never be used. Teachers are no longer valued. Food programs for needy children have been eliminated. Unions that helped make the middle class have been busted. This is what America has come to, and it needs to stop. Charity begins at home.
