Applause: Kudos to Placer County female inmates and Citrus Heights police dispatchers

Kudos to: Placer County Jail minimum-security female inmates

Accomplishment: Knitted hats and toys for children

Details: Dozens of hats were shipped to Guatemala. Other hats and toys were to be distributed to Placer County foster children or handed out by patrol deputies.

Kudos to: Citrus Heights police dispatchers

Accomplishment: Earned the California Peace Officers Association Award of Distinction

Details: Dispatchers were honored for their work helping officers and the community. In addition to their regular daily responsibilities, the dispatchers send letters of appreciation to citizens who help officers catch criminals. They also brought a program to the department that helps families find loved ones who have wandered away due to dementia or other conditions.
