The State Worker’s Top 10: A different look at California state wages

The State Worker in 2013 asked for state payroll data that included employee pay by unnion affliation. The result: A first-ever series of posts that reported California state government employees’ average and median pay by bargaining unit. The Bee’s Amy Gebert crunched the data to give blog users a different kind of view into wages (furlough losses included) during the summer contract-bargaining season.

The series, which we’ll bring back in 2014, culminated with the No. 8 post among this year’s Top 10 blog items: What California state workers earn: The grand finale.
