Auburn bank employee accused of embezzlement

A 34-year-old man was arrested today, accused of embezzling from his employer, an Auburn bank.

Auburn police received a report from Tri Counties Bank, 789 High St., Dec. 9, alleging that an employee had embezzled approximately $8,000 from the bank from June to December 2013.

The suspect was identified as Jesus Valenzuela (pictured). Following an investigation, police found Valenzuela in Citrus Heights and obtained a confession, according to a Police Department news release.

Valenzuela was booked in to Placer County Jail today on suspicion of one count of felony embezzlement.
