California’s state government job portal closed for upgrade

Published: Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014 - 6:10 pm

The key parts of the California state government job portal, jobs.ca.gov, will be offline over the weekend while technicians modify the website.

Various aspects of the site will be closed for upgrading through Jan. 22. The California Department of Human Resources, which is handling the work in-house, will reopen key sites of public interest –job vacancy posts, examination bulletins, Internet-based exams and the like – no later than close of business Monday.

“Hopefully we’ll be back up before that,” department spokeswoman Pat McConahay said.

Technicians took the system offline on Monday to install updates to the $10 million Exam and Certification Online System project, which is due to wrap up in 2017.
