Marrone Bio passes million-acre milestone in U.S.

Davis-based Marrone Bio Innovations Inc., a provider of bio-based pest management and plant health products, said that it has passed the 1 million treated acres milestone in the United States for its biopesticide products.

“Most of these acres are in high value specialty crops but also includes acres of our recent launch of Regalia Rx in row crops. It confirms that our products are meeting the demands of the marketplace and are being included in growers’ standard spray programs year after year,” said Hector Absi, MBI’s senior vice president of commercial operations

Absi said the introduction of Regalia Rx in 2013 provided a “significant” push, especially in corn and soybean markets. He said Marrone also saw product growth for acreage in the Florida citrus market.

Last summer, Marrone raised $57 million in an initial public stock offering, the first Sacramento-area IPO in seven years.
