Cold nights and mild days are on tap through the week for the Sacramento region, according to the National Weather Service.

A high pressure system along the west coast continues to bring dry and mild weather. A slight chance of showers is possible during the week over the northern mountains as a couple of weak low pressure systems moves through Northern California.

A slight chance of showers is forecast for the Sacramento region on Saturday. The detailed, 7-day forecast from the NWS for the Sacramento region:

Today: Mostly sunny, with a high near 64. Light south southwest wind.

Tonight: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 39. Light southeast wind.

Wednesday: Partly sunny, with a high near 60. Calm wind becoming northwest around 6 mph in the afternoon.

Wednesday night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 40. North wind 3 to 6 mph.

Thursday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 62. Calm wind.

Thursday night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 38.

Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 64.

Friday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 39.

Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 62.

Saturday night: A slight chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 39.
