NetBrain Technologies, a 10-year-old, Massachusetts-based provider of computer-aided network engineering software, has opted to open its first West Coast facility in Sacramento.

The Sacramento Area Commerce and Trade Organization said NetBrain has signed a lease for 4,000 square feet of office space on Creekside Oaks Drive in the South Natomas area of Sacramento.

SACTO said the company plans to initially hire a dozen engineers, sales professionals and administrative personnel, with longer term plans for 20 to 25 employees as it expands sales teams.

NetBrain, with corporate offices just north of Boston, has developed a network automation software tool that provides network documentation, gives network professionals the ability to do map-based troubleshooting and pushes out changes to all devices network-wide.

SACTO said the company considered cost of housing and office space, proximity to the Silicon Valley, location of colleges of engineering, regional skill base and diversity before announcing the new office site.
