Weather during the first week of the new year has been dry and warm -- with not a drop of rain and temperatures way above normal for winter.
The normal daytime high temperature this time of year is 53 degrees in Sacramento. But this year, a high pressure system has been delivering a string of 60 degree days.
On Tuesday, a record for Jan. 7 was tied when the mercury hit 65 degrees in Sacramento. That temperature matched the all-time high set in 2012.
