Local veterinarians Karen Mulvihill, Diana Cortez and Erin True, owners and operators of Sacramento Animal Hospital, are now in the process of constructing a new veterinary hospital at 57th and H streets in Sacramento.

Officials expect the new facility to be fully operational in this year’s second quarter.

The nearly 6,000-square-foot, two-story hospital, developed by The Pigman Cos. in Gold River, was designed by Rauhaus Freedenfeld & Associates and is being constructed by Irvine-based Roseen Builders. Financing is being provided by Live Oak Bank.

The facility will include diagnostic laboratory equipment for rapid test results, digital radiography imaging, a dental suite, an isolation ward for contagious patients; dedicated cat “condos” for felines; a state-of-the-art surgery suite and an intensive care unit.
