KINGS (11-22) VS. MAGIC (10-25)
• Time: 7 p.m.
• Where: Sleep Train Arena
• TV/radio: CSNCA, 1140, 950
• 1. First quarter under 30: The Kings have allowed 30 or more points in the first quarter of their last three games. Setting a better defensive tone early would help them forget they allowed 46 points in the fourth quarter of Tuesday’s win over Portland.
• 2. Big-guard lineup: The Kings could exploit Orlando’s small lineup by using 6-foot-8 Rudy Gay at guard, allowing him to post up Orlando rookie Victor Oladipo or Arron Afflalo in certain situations.
• 3. New role: Marcus Thornton has been a scorer his entire career, but the Kings don’t need that from him with Gay, Isaiah Thomas and DeMarcus Cousins also in the starting lineup. Thornton has to do more rebounding, defending and passing.
