Re "Stop playing fast and loose with ballot language" (Editorials, Dec. 30): Congratulations to The Bee Editorial Board for its criticism of Attorney General Kamela Harris' past misuse of power to write ballot summaries. The Bee and most newspapers - except her hometown San Francisco Chronicle - supported her opponent in the very tight 2010 race for state attorney general. Her support came from labor, other left-wing groups and President Barack Obama, whose late, strong support influenced enough of the 19 percent who were undecided a week before the election. In my long memory of California attorneys generals, most of who, like Harris, lusted after higher office, none so clearly put political and personal considerations before the requirements of law. Unless voters start paying attention, Harris could end up as governor.
