Beer-drinking bikers, hikers and public-transit enthusiasts, rejoice.

Sacramento Beer Week’s annual Capitol Beerfest, usually held at Cal Expo, will be moving to Capitol Mall this year, where September’s “Farm-to-Fork Week” cattle drive and free festival successfully hosted more than 25,000 interested attendees.

Capitol Beerfest is scheduled for Sunday, March 9. Last year’s event, held on a Saturday, was attended by more than 3,500 beer fans – a 20 percent increase over 2012 – and featured more than 90 breweries.

Sacramento Beer Week is scheduled to run Feb. 28-March 9.
