Pro-arena group makes grave misstep

Re “Pro-arena event at cemetery draws criticism” (Page B2, Jan. 11): My wife's late uncle use to say, "Money can’t buy manners." I imagine he was turning in his grave Friday as it’s only about 30 yards from where the hapless 4000 organizers tried to make their case for a new arena - inside the gates of East Lawn Cemetery in east Sacramento. The decision to hold a news conference there was misguided, insensitive, inappropriate and just clueless. Whether for or against the downtown arena proposal, the actions of the 4000 organization makes one question the moral fabric of the pro-arena zealots. They owe every family who has loved ones interred at East Lawn an apology. However, my late uncle had another saying that applies here as well: “Ignorance is not stupidity, but it might as well be."
