Drop bullet train, but build more dams

Published: Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2014 - 11:10 am

Re “Drought challenges Brown again” (Page A1, Jan. 12): Ironic, isn't it, that Gov. Jerry Brown is dealing with a drought problem 37 years after the last time he sat in governor's office? I don't think we have built a dam in California since the last time he sat there. The only thing that occupies Brown now is the bullet train debacle. Instead of pounding all the money down a rat hole, let's build a dam or two. Let’s store some water instead of worrying about getting people from Madera to Bakersfield at 100 mph.
