The Dallas-based operator of Corner Bakery Cafe, which bills itself as a fast-casual restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, says it plans to open eight new restaurants in the Sacramento area with new franchise partner East Bay Restaurants Inc. of Pleasanton.

CBC Restaurant Corp. said East Bay, which also oversees nearly 50 Burger King and seven Taco Bell restaurants, plans to open its first cafe this year, with other sites opening over the next five years. Specific locations will be announced at a later date.

“Sacramento is the perfect place to continue our expansion plans as the brand looks to numerous new locations and even more fans on the West Coast,” said said Gregg Koffler, vice president of franchise sales for Corner Bakery Cafe.

Corner Bakery Cafe’s menu features breakfast scramblers, paninis/sandwiches, homemade soups, hand-tossed salads, pastas and various sweets. The chain operates more than 160 sites in 17 states and Washington, D.C.
