Water saver can’t cut usage more

Published: Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2014 - 10:10 am

Re “State of emergency declared in drought” (Page A1, Jan. 18): Gov. Jerry Brown says we need to cut water use by 20 percent. How? I already wash only when the machine is full, and I flush sparingly. Is the governor suggesting I give up bathing? Maybe he is suggesting that I give up wearing clothes, so I don't need to do laundry. That’s the only way that those of us who are already sparing with our water usage could possibly save 20 percent more.
