Windy and warm weather conditions are predicted today for the Sacramento region.
A large high-pressure ridge remains parked over the eastern Pacific Ocean, according to the National Weather Service. Meanwhile, a weak low-pressure wave dropping down along the Sierra is expected to kick up wind.
A red-flag warning for the Sierra Nevada and the Coastal Range has been issued in anticipation of gusty winds that are forecast.
“It will be windy, along with the dry conditions already in place,” said National Weather Service forecaster Craig Shoemaker. “It will be a touch cooler today and Friday compared to the past couple of days.”
A high temperature of 68 degrees is predicted for Thursday in Sacramento, dropping to 38 degrees overnight. Friday’s high is expected to be 69.
