Murderer gets 97-to-life in Sacramento drug killing

A man convicted in a 2011 drug murder was sentenced today to 97 years and eight months to life in prison.

Sacramento Superior Court Judge James E. McFetridge imposed the term on Chema Keomie Strawthers, 32, for the Sept. 17, 2011, shooting death of Ahmed Ishaq, 37, over an unpaid $150 debt.

Strawthers was on parole for voluntary manslaughter at the time of the shooting on Northgate Boulevard.
