In celebration of Black History Month, Sisters Quilting Collective hosts its annual show, “Our Stories in Quilts: Quilts That Are Inspired by the Stories in Our Lives.” Author and noted quilter Karen Boutte opens the exhibit with a keynote address at 1:30 p.m. Feb. 1; admission is $30 and reservations are required. In addition, the two-week exhibit will include free “story circles” at 4:30 p.m. Feb. 1; bring a quilt or photo and tell the story behind that heirloom or handiwork. Families also are invited to a free community day to learn about African American quilting from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. Feb. 8. Other events and a closing reception also are planned; for full details, check the blog site.
