Rudy Gay (strained left Achilles) sat out Sundays 125-117 loss to Denver at Sleep Train Arena but left with the team for Utah, where the Kings will play Monday night.
Gay was listed as doubtful tonight and will be a gametime decision against the Jazz.
DeMarcus Cousins (sprained left ankle) did not make the trip and will miss a third consecutive game.
*Kings rookie Ben McLemore scored 18 points and made six of his 12 shots.
But the numbers that make the coaching staff happiest are his three assists and only one turnover.
The Kings have worked tirelessly to improve McLemores ballhandling so that he can pass off the dribble. McLemore showed off that work against the Nuggets.
A lot of that work is with assistant coach Dee Brown.
Hes helped me a lot and Im still learning and trying to get better on those types of things, McLemore said. There were things I did in the game that Ive been working on.
The challenge for McLemore was to show he can be more than a jump shooter and tightening up his handle.
The coaches were pleased with what they saw Sunday.
*Isaiah Thomas has taken 52 shots over the last two games. Hes made 20 shots (38.5 percent).
Thomas said he didnt plan to shoot this much with Cousins and Gay out the last two games.
Coach told me just to keep shooting because most of the shots Im taking are shots that I can make and are pretty good shots, Thomas said. Theyre just not falling right now and Im going to just keep my confidence up and just keep being aggressive.
