Water-logged parks are puzzling

Re “Cities crack down on water waste” (Page A1, Jan. 19): While residents are being asked to restrict their water usage, why were two parks' grassy areas not just damp but muddy recently? Both Auburn Regional Park and Johnson Park in Rocklin had lawn areas with standing water. Meanwhile, families are facing the potential loss of their investments in residential landscaping, regardless of the drip systems and low-output sprinklers they use.
