Re Arena-vote petitions foul out (Page A1, Jan. 25): The opportunity to vote on spending more than $255 million in taxpayers money has been fouled out. So what if a few words were misplaced and some differences existed between petitions. Unfortunately, the decision is based on technicalities, and the citizens don't get a vote. The numbers were there, but the wording on the petitions was wrong. But the intent hasn't fouled out and is still in the hearts of the citizens of Sacramento. Now we will see if the $255 million is the actual cost to the taxpayers. Whether technicalities or eminent domain, I guess all's fair in politics, isn't it? If you cant use honest means to get what you want, then just steal it. Have politics and greed in Sacramento always been this obvious, or is it our experience in todays world?
