My colleague, Claudia Buck, and I finally went for our flu shots. Apparently, plenty of people preceded us.
Our neighborhood pharmacist said the outlet only has 19 flu shots remaining. Shed heard of other retail pharmacies running out. Kaiser Permanente had shortages in portions of Northern California, but restocked.
Luckily, the only shots remaining at our pharmacy were the kinds that puncture only the skin, not the muscle. The needle was just a stub. It didnt hurt much at all.
We learned that itll take up to 10 days to build up full immunity, and to wash our hands frequently until then.
