Two young men were shot this afternoon during an altercation inside an apartment in south Sacramento County, according to authorities.

Both of the victims are believed to have suffered non-life-threatening wounds, according to the Sheriff’s Department.

Deputies were alerted to the shooting just before 2 p.m., when 911 callers reported multiple shooting victims and vehicles leaving the scene, located near 44th Avenue and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, said sheriff’s Sgt. Lisa Bowman.

Deputies arrived and found one victim, a man about 18 to 20 years old, on the ground. Another victim, shot in the arm, showed up later at a hospital. He also is 18 to 20 years old, Bowman said.

The shooter has not been identified. Deputies are canvassing the area but have not identified any witnesses.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Sheriff’s Department at (916) 874-5115.
