Cache Creek settles strike

Published: Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2014 - 2:08 pm

A strike by unionized slot-machine technicians at Cache Creek Casino Resort was settled late Monday.

Casino spokesman Michael Traum said the strike, by about 20 members of Stationary Engineers Local 39, “was amicably resolved.”

The workers accepted a new contract and went back on the job Monday evening, he said.

He said the workers walked out Thursday after voting to reject an earlier contract offer.

He said the walkout didn’t affect operations at the Yolo County casino.

The technicians are in charge of fixing slot machines.
