Man found guilty of fatally stabbing transient in Rancho Cordova

A Sacramento County jury today convicted at 29-year-old man in a fatal stabbing outside a Rancho Cordova pet clinic in 2012.

Tywan Johnson was found guilty of second-degree murder and torture in the death of 55-year-old Jeffery Rozenski, according to a Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office news release.

Rozenski’s body was found by a passer-by outside a pet clinic in the 2800 block of La Loma Drive the night of Nov. 26, 2012. Authorities described Rozenski as a transient who frequented the Rancho Corodva area and reported that his body was found on the ground with a bicycle.

Johnson was accused of repeatedly stabbing Rozenski, killing him.

Johnson is to be sentenced Feb. 25 in Sacramento Superior Court.
