Re "Classrooms still cold while HVAC units idle" (Page A1, Jan. 27): I am amazed at the Twin Rivers school district. District officials have spent on legal fees and luncheons for staff, and yet they cannot fix the heating problem. As a former PTA president for Village Elementry, I know the PTA has purchased some large items for the school that require the district maintenance staff to install. Work orders were put in more than a year ago, but the district keeps giving lip service as to why the maintenance staff is not able to get to these jobs. It is hard for the PTA to continue to run fundraisers when the students and parents never see the PTA-purchased items up and running. Our most recent purchase was last year, when we bought was an expensive digital sign for the school. We were told it would be installed over the summer. That never happened. Now, the sign company wants to charge the school for storage and to get an outside contractor to install the sign.
