Ask Sacto 911 crime Q&A: Was anyone arrested in 2012 shooting death at Carmichael duplex?

Published: Friday, Jan. 31, 2014 - 10:11 pm

A year or two ago, a man was shot and killed in Carmichael at a residence on Haskell Avenue. What is the status of the investigation?

– Mike, Carmichael

Andrew David Coy, 24, was fatally shot at a duplex in the 5700 block of Haskell Avenue in Carmichael in August 2012.

Sacramento County sheriff’s deputies were called to the residence about 2:40 p.m. and found Coy, who had been shot in the back. According to stories in The Bee, several shots had been fired, but Coy had only one wound and there were no signs of a struggle. The perpetrator reportedly fled in a large black sedan.

Sheriff’s officials said Coy did not live in the duplex, which some neighbors suspected was a haven for drug deals.

No arrests in the case have been reported.
