Sacramento County should nix home building

Published: Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014 - 7:10 am

Re “Affordability rules eased” (Our Region, Jan. 29): So, Sacramento County Board of Supervisors voted to reduce affordable housing requirements in the hope of spurring home construction. Is there something in their air vents that affects the supervisors’ ability to deal with reality? They have approved 8,000 homes to be built on Grant Line Road by the county landfill, and they want to allow more development on Jackson Road by Power Inn Road. Perhaps, the supervisors could stand on Folsom Dam, and while facing what's left of the lake, enlighten us as to where the water for all these extra people in the region is going to come from. -- James taylor, Gold River
