The Seahawks will play in their second Super Bowl today. Seven teams have won in their second appearance after losing their Super Bowl debut. Here are the first five to do so:

• Chiefs: They lost 35-10 to the Packers in the first Super Bowl but redeemed themselves with a 23-7 win over the Vikings in Super Bowl IV.

• Raiders: They lost 33-14 to the Packers in Super Bowl II. Nine years later, the Raiders rolled over the Vikings 32-14. The Raiders had lost the previous three AFC Championship Games.

• Colts: Their loss to the Jets in Super Bowl III stands as one of sport’s greatest upsets. Two years later, Jim O’Brien kicked a field goal with five seconds left to beat the Cowboys 16-13.

• Cowboys:

They returned to the Super Bowl following their heartbreaking loss the year before and pounded the Dolphins 24-3 in Super Bowl VI. The Cowboys lost the next two NFC Championship Games.

• Dolphins: Perhaps motivated by their Super Bowl loss to the Cowboys, the Dolphins became the NFL’s first undefeated team when they beat the Redskins 14-7 in Super Bowl VII.
