Re "Retiree benefits sink city in debt" (Our Region, Feb. 2): City of Sacramento is more than $500 million in debt.
Sacramento's elected representatives need to stop spending taxpayers' money without going to a vote of the people paying the bill. Maybe it is time for an outside audit and full disclosure on what the city owes, the unfunded liabilities and the revenues it receives plus the reserves it has on hand.
Full disclosure needs to happen before agreeing to transferring the parking revenue from the general fund and using it to pay off new debt created by the proposed arena.
