Kings game plan vs. Toronto

TONIGHT’S GAME

KINGS (16-32) vs. RAPTORS (26-22)

• Time: 7 p.m.

• Where: Sleep Train Arena

• TV/radio: CSNCA, 1140 AM

THREE KEYS

• 1. Close out: Michael Malone’s message about buckling down on defensive possessions ends with securing rebounds. The Raptors average the third-most second-chance points in the league, so the Kings need to clean the boards when they force a miss.

• 2. Second unit: Jimmer Fredette was very effective in the second half against Chicago off the bench, especially running a two-man game with DeMarcus Cousins. The Kings could use similar production against a very familiar Raptors bench that includes John Salmons, Greivis Vasquez and Patrick Patterson.

• 3. Establish tempo: The Raptors are holding opponents under 97 points a game and allow the fifth-fewest fast-break points in the league. It will be up to the Kings to establish their preferred up-tempo game by getting stops and pushing the ball in transition.
