Re "A not-so-idle question" (Letters, Feb. 5): Regarding Davind Sandbrook's letter asking how many elected officials pushing the minimum wage increase have unpaid interns, the two issues are totally unrelated.
I once was one of those unpaid interns. We did not get paid a salary, but we were paid in experience and college credit. I'm sure my parents would have been outraged if their tax dollars would have been paying me a salary for earning college credits. The opportunity to earn work experience in government was more than enough pay.
