Pregame notes: Containing Lowry will be a challenge

The Kings’ problem tonight could be Kyle Lowry.

He will play even though he left Toronto’s win at Utah with a sore knee.

Lowry is averaging 16.5 points and 7.5 assists this season.

“Kyle is an attacking guard, he’s like a bulldog, he’s shooting the ball extremely well,” said Kings caoch Michael Malone. “... He can hurt you off the bounce, he can get to the rim, get to the foul line as well as get to the rim.”

The Kings have struggled most of the season defending point guards so how they deal with Lowry will be key.

*Toronto coach Dwane Casey said tonight’s game isn’t about the seven-player trade that sent Rudy Gay to Sacramento.

“We’ll see Rudy after the game,” Casey said. “I wish him well other than tonight.”

Prediction time: The Kings are coming off their best defensive effort of the season. Can they follow up? That’s been the problem all season.

Raptors 106, Kings 100

My record: 30-18
