Police seek missing Elk Grove man who suffers from Alzheimer’s disease

Elk Grove police ask the community’s help in finding a 79-year-old man who suffers from Alzheimer’s disease.

Andrew Smedley (pictured) was last seen about 4:30 p.m. Thursday sitting inside a vehicle that was parked in the the WinCo Foods parking lot at 8100 Sheldon Road. He was discovered missing about 5:30 p.m., according to a Police Department news release.

Smedley is described as 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighing 144 pounds, with gray hair, a gray beard and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a blue jacket, blue dress pants, and gray and black sneakers.

Anyone with information regarding Smedley’s whereabouts is asked to call the Elk Grove Police Department dispatch center at (916) 691-5246.
