IRVINE -- UC Davis sophomore Molly Greubel set a school single-game record with 14 assists but host UC Irvine won 79-73 in overtime on Saturday, UCD reported.
Greubel broke Sara Lillevands mark of 13 set in 1990 against Cal State Stanislaus. Greubel also became the first Aggie with double-digit assists since Kim Omer in 2004.
Sydnee Fipps led UC Davis (10-12, 5-4 Big West Conference) with 21 points, the juniors third consecutive 20-point game. Senior Idit Oryon added a career-high 13 points off the bench.
UC Irvine (12-11, 5-4) trailed 60-50 with 10:17 left in regulation but then went on a 14-0 run to flip the momentum, and Methlyn Onogomuho, who had 20 points and 13 rebounds, converted a key three-point play to help seal the victory in overtime.
Southern Utah 93, Sacramento State 74 in Cedar City, Utah The Hornets had one of their worst defensive performances of the season as host Southern Utah made layups for all but two of its field goals, Sac State reported.
Senior Alle Moreno led the Hornets (15-6, 7-5 Big Sky Conference) with 18 points, four steals and three assists.
Sac State built an early eight-point lead, but the Thunderbirds (13-7, 7-4) went on a 21-3 run before halftime.
The Hornets cut their deficit to nine points in the second half but couldnt get any closer as the Thunderbirds piled up 68 points in the paint, scoring layups for 34 of their 36 made field goals and shooting 66.7 percent from the field the best percentage of any Sac State opponent this season.
UC Irvine 61, UC Davis 59 at the Pavilion Darius Graham missed a last-gasp three-pointer as the Aggies lost at home, according to the UCD athletics website.
Corey Hawkins led the Aggies (8-16, 3-6 Big West Conference) with 19 points, going 8 for 11 from the free-throw line.
Luke Nelsons layup with 1:50 left put UC Irvine (16-9, 7-2) ahead for good.
