R Systems International Ltd., an international tech firm with Sacramento area roots, said Monday it passed the $100 million mark in annual sales for the first time in its 20-year history.

The company, founded in the Sacramento area but now based in India, said it earned $9 million on sales of $101.8 million in 2013. That compared with profit of $3.4 million on revenue of $87.1 million the year before.

“We have joined the elite club of companies with revenue” greater than $100 million, said Rekhi Singh, chairman and managing director, in a press release.

R Systems, which specializes in information-technology outsourcing, was founded as a consulting firm in 1993 and maintains some operations in El Dorado Hills. While about half its revenue comes from the United States, the bulk of its engineering and development work is performed overseas.
