TODAY’S GAME

KINGS (17-35)

AT KNICKS (20-31)

Time: 4:30 p.m.

Where: Madison Square Garden, New York

TV/radio: CSNCA, NBA 1140, 950

THREE KEYS

1. Load up on Melo: The Knicks rely on All-Star Carmelo Anthony to carry their offense. Multiple defenders need to do all they can to make it tough on Anthony, who starts at power forward and will try to take advantage of Jason Thompson on the perimeter. Derrick Williams and Rudy Gay figure to have turns on Anthony, too.

2. Attack the middle: Sacramento must be aggressive and go at Knicks center Tyson Chandler. Injuries to Andrea Bargnani and Kenyon Martin have stripped New York of depth among its post players, and Chandler is New York’s best chance of slowing down DeMarcus Cousins.

3. Focus on the finish: With their All-Star break starting Thursday, the Kings can’t be so preoccupied with vacation plans they forget to show up for the game.
