Re "GOP more useless than ever" (Letters, Feb. 13): Letter writer George Rose states that the Republican Party is useless because the majority wanted to not vote for an extension of the debt limit. I concur that some in the party are useless. However, the useless Republicans are the 28 RINOS who did vote to increase the limit.
There is not an endless supply of money. Under President Barack Obama, the United States' credit rating has dropped for the first time in history, not once but twice.
Increasing the debt limit is irresponsible and fails to address the real problem, overspending. Kicking the can down the road is just postponing the inevitable. Unless we reign in spending, the bubble will burst.
