Unemployed people are loafers

Re "Turning the question of `immoral' action on its head" (Forum, Feb. 9): As an unemployed person, I am offended. The Republican attitude disgusting. Their belief that the employed are loafers living high on the hog from unemployment benefits shows how little they know about what is going on with the American people. As a volunteer career coach, I work with skilled, motivated people who want to work, but can't find jobs. Most have gone deeply into debt and have used up retirement savings just to stay a float. At last count, there were three unemployed for every job opening. If want to talk about people who are dong nothing and living off the government, look to Congress. This do nothing Congress receives healthcare, retirement and a government paycheck while doing nothing. In fact, what little Congress does hurts the economy and the American people, not helps it. Maybe its time to layoff members of Congress so they can go get real jobs.
