More details on parolee surrender in El Dorado Hills

Published: Friday, Feb. 14, 2014 - 10:56 am

A parolee was taken into custody Friday morning after an overnight stand-off with deputies in El Dorado Hills.

El Dorado County Sheriff’s deputies received information about a parolee, Nathan Brown, 38, who was wanted on parole violation. He was also believed to have a shotgun, according to a sheriff’s department press release.

Deputies went to an apartment complex on El Dorado Hills Boulevard at 8 p.m. Thursday to look for Brown. When they arrived, deputies saw someone who appeared to be Brown looking out an apartment window.

Deputies surrounded the apartment, closed down El Dorado Hills Boulevard and called in the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team. Loud speaker announcements were made to contact Brown.

However, he would not speak with deputies for hours. Eventually, deputies were able to speak with a female inside the residence.

She exited the apartment first and then Brown surrendered around 5:45 a.m.

Brown was booked into El Dorado County Jail on suspicion of parole violation, obstruction of law enforcement and making criminal threats.
