Arena isn't vital to Sacrament

Re "What City? Speech was all about arena" (Editorials, Feb. 14): Why am I not surprised? The arena seems to be the only topic I hear Mayor Kevin Johnson discuss.

He doesn't miss a chance to promote this project. The existing arena is located away from the heart of the city where freeways converge carrying rush hour and non rush hour commuters to and from the center of the city.

The new arena will not only cause congestion it also is a big burden on tax payers. Tax money should be spent on vital issues such as all levels of education, adequate water supply and roads. The new arena is not vital.
