Re "Newsom says `no' to high-speed rail" (Capitol & California, Feb. 15): No private investors have been found for high-speed rail. They understand this is a financial loser.
Gov. Jerry Brown's state of the state address gave a very brief and tepid nod to high-speed rail because the governor knows voters and taxpayers understand we have more pressing needs than this boondoggle.
The governor should follow the leadership of the lieutenant governor on this one.
