The visiting Stanford Cardinal scored seven runs in the fifth inning to defeat UC Davis 10-1 in a nonconference softball game Tuesday, UCD reported.

Amy Nunez drove in Christa Castello with a double for the Aggies (4-9) in the bottom of the third to close Stanford’s lead to 3-1, but then the Cardinal (12-0) unleashed its assault in the fifth as it sent 11 batters to the plate on four hits and four Aggie errors. Nunez had two hits for the Aggies. Jasmine Lee got their only other hit in the fourth inning.

The Aggies will play in the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic in Cathedral City this weekend, starting with a game Friday morning against Syracuse.
