Breezy Thursday, warm weekend before possible rain in Sacramento

Gusty winds Thursday provide a lead into a beautiful weekend before the big change: the chance of a moderate rain-producer starting next Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service.

Wind gusts of 13 mph are expected in Sacramento on Thursday. Other wind gust predictions include 17 mph in Yuba City, 18 mph in Woodland, 17 mph in Fairfield and 12 in Lodi.

The weekend looks sunny with forecasters calling for afternoon maximum temperatures around 70 degrees both days in the Sacramento region. Potential wet weather pattern changes could occur Wednesday afternoon or evening.

That’s when tropical moisture moves into Northern California with precipitation possibly continuing for several days. The detailed, 7-day forecast from the NWS for the Sacramento region:

Today: Partly sunny, with a high near 69. North northwest wind 5 to 10 mph.

Tonight: Partly cloudy, with a low around 44. North northwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 69. Northwest wind 5 to 7 mph.

Friday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 45. Northwest wind 5 to 7 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 71. North northwest wind 3 to 6 mph.

Saturday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 44.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 69.

Sunday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 45.

Monday: Sunny, with a high near 70.

Monday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 47.

Tuesday: Partly sunny, with a high near 70.

Tuesday night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 49.

Wednesday: A chance of rain. Partly sunny, with a high near 66.
