Re "Supporters of Obamacare spin fairy tales" (Viewpoints, Feb. 16): Who quits a paying job just because a person can get health insurance without it? People who are ill, or who have a sick kid, that's who.
Pre-Obamacare, many people with pre-existing conditions had been forced to work for big corporations or the government because that was the only way they could obtain health insurance. Some have spouses who make plenty to support their families, but who could not buy healthcare at any price.
Others have been hiring nannies to take care of sick kids while they go to work to ensure the child gets needed insurance. Still others wish to continue working but covet the freedom to choose jobs outside the big corporate or government structure.
Two million "jobs lost" equates to two million people free to live the American Dream. Don't worry about the economy. Medical jobs will be growing exponentially.
