No justice in fan beating case

Re "2 get prison time in fan beating" (Page A1, Feb. 21): It happened again. Shorter sentences for a beating than for a sex crime. With credit for time served they could be out very soon. Why? It seems to me that they could have been charged with attempted murder.

I read about sentences for 45 years for child porn. Why not a similar sentence for nearly killing a man?

Most cities have laws related to business about sex. However, these same cities don't have laws about violent sporting events such as mixed martial arts or the sale of weapons. This same logic is followed in the ads in papers and TV.

You read about kids killed by family members when past physical abuse was ignored. Most child abuse conferences and books focus on sexual abuse, not physical abuse. I can say this after spending over 40 years supplying mental health workers with professional materials for their work.
