Junior Nick Lynch hit two home runs, giving him four in three games, and UC Davis ripped a season-high 15 hits in a 10-5 victory over Kansas State on Saturday in the Gael Invitational in Moraga.
Lynch hit a solo homer in the fifth to tie the score, and his two-run bomb capped a five-run sixth as the Aggies (3-4) pulled away from the Wildcats (1-6), UCD reported on its athletics website.
Sophomore Cameron Olson also homered in going 3 for 5 with three RBIs to help freshman left-hander Orlando Razo earn his first college win. Razo allowed three hits and a walk in 32/3 scoreless innings of relief.
• Sacramento State lost to No. 21 Texas A&M 7-5 on a two-run walkoff homer in the bottom of the ninth in College Station, Texas, Sac State reported. After trailing 2-0 and 5-2, Will Soto doubled in two runs for the Hornets (4-3) to tie the score in the ninth, but Logan Nottebrok won it for the Aggies (5-1) with his second two-run homer of the game. Freshman Brandon Hunley had a two-run single for Sac State.
Hornets’ Stroud blanks Cyclones
Taylor Stroud pitched a five-hit shut-out as Sacramento State (4-5) rebounded from an earlier loss to beat Iowa State 4-0 in the Bronco Softball Classic in Santa Clara, Sac State reported. Stroud, a senior, walked three and struck out three, and Alexis Martinez had an RBI double in the top of the fifth and a run-scoring single in the sixth. The Cyclones fell to 10-2.
Earlier, the Hornets committed a season-high four errors and allowed a season high in runs in a 13-2 loss to San Diego (3-5). Sasha Margulies had RBI singles in the first and third for Sac State.
• Jasmine Lee drove in two runs for UC Davis (4-12) in its 11-4 loss to UNLV (4-7) at the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic in Cathedral City, UCD reported.
